Karachi police kill four ‘gangsters’

Karachi—Law-enforcers continued their anti-criminal crackdown in Karachi, eliminating four alleged gangsters in late night operations. According to our correspondent, a shootout took place between police and mobsters in city’s Dalmia area when the law-enforcing personnel raided a house on a tip-off.
Police claimed the encounter left four suspected gangsters dead, adding that weapons and hand grenades were recovered from the house.
Moreover, police carried out a search operation against outlaws in Federal B.Area where the cops came under attack. “We returned fire and chased two criminals in Madina Colony,” an official spoke said.
Separately, police carried out an action in P.I.B Colony on Monday morning, arresting a suspected drug peddler in injured condition.
Meanwhile, at least four suspects were killed in a shootout with police and two others arrested on Monday in multiple operations conducted by police in Karachi.
According to police, an operation was carried out in Gulshan-i-Iqbal’s Dalmia area on reports regarding the presence of Lyari gang-war suspects. The suspects opened fire upon seeing police personnel and in the shootout four suspects were injured who died before being shifted to a hospital.
Police recovered a Kalashnikov rifle, repeater gun, four rifle grenades, two hand grenades, two pistols, and a cache of bullets from the possession of the suspects.
In a separate targeted operation in Gulshan-i-Maymar, law enforcers arrested a suspect belonging to the militant wing of a political party. Police caught the suspect, identified as Asif, over information provided by an under-custody suspect, sources said.
In Ajmer Nagri, another armed suspect was arrested and weapons retrieved from him. In Landhi’s Dawood Chowrangi, people assaulted two alleged dacoits and handed them over to police.
