Karachi Mayor to take all parties on board to solve city problems


Karachi—Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter has said we want to take all political and religious parties on board for solving problems of Karachi.
He expressed these views while talking to media representatives on a meeting with the ANP leader Shahi Syed at his residence on Monday.
He said that, “Elected representatives in Karachi have this desire too to play their role in the progress and development of the city.”
“Federal and provincial governments were requested to give authority to elected representatives of Karachi and provide all required resources to this city which it deserves,” he said.
“I would also request the Prime Minister of Pakistan to announce a special package for Karachi and include such projects in the CPEC which could prove beneficial for Karachi and its citizens,” the mayor said.
ANP leader Amir Nawab, Younis Bouneri, parliamentary leader in city council Aslam Afridi, Izhar Ahmed Khan and others were also present on this occasion.
Before this the Mayor Karachi was received with warm welcome when he reached the residence of ANP leader Shahi Syed for meeting him. Fateha and prayer for late ANP senator Haji Adeel was offered on this occasion.
Mayor Karachi said population in Karachi has increased manifold due to which city problems have also increased. We have a good team for working in the city with a passion to solve the city problems with joint efforts of all political, religious and other parties of Karachi.
He said he will carry on meeting with the leaders of other parties in the days to come so that problems of Karachi could be solved through team work.
Leader of ANP Shahi Syed welcoming the Mayor Karachi at his residence called this good that Mayor of Karachi wants to solve the problems of Karachi with the participation of all parties. He assured all possible cooperation from his side to Mayor Karachi.—NNI
