As PSP leader Mustafa Kamal and colleagues continued with their agitation for the rights of the people of Karachi for second day Friday, another legislator from MQM Pakistan, Irtiza Khalil Farooqi, joined them to lend further strengthen to the former mayor of Karachi.
Welcoming Irtiza to his party’s fold, Kamal said it will definitely be fruitful, and hoped that Irtiza will work for the betterment of Karachi and Pakistan, the goals he has set for his party, after launching it last year.
As irrtiza sat next to Kamal at the protect camp in front of the Karachi Press Club, Kamal told reporters that his effort, though only two days old, will continue till the last breath. It was not for days, weeks or months, but it is meant to achieve its goal, even it demands our lives, and will continue till we breath our last.
Irtiza was MPA from PS-119, Karachi East, and his inclusion had earlier been announced over a private TV channel.
The defection came after Kamal had made it known in unambiguous words that he won’t let Sindh government work, and his words should be taken seriously.’I mean it and I will see to it that our demands for return to civic institutions which were with the city government or KMC, and which has been usurped by the Provincial government, are returned to where they belonged.
Protesting outside Karachi Press Club this morning, the workers said the Sindh government had ruined the public departments by not properly managing the affairs running there.
PSP workers have said the provincial government should fulfil the basic needs, including the provision of potable water, electricity and a proper sewage system. They alleged that the Sindh government has taken over the local government department so as to carry out corrupt activities.
