Juvenile drivers to face strict action

Rawalpindi—City Traffic Police (CTP) have launched a comprehensive campaign against juvenile drivers in the city.In a statement, acting Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Ifthikhar ul Haq said that strict action would be taken against juvenile drivers and added that their vehicles would be impounded as they pose risk to the lives of passengers who board these vehicles.
He said that many accidents took place due to the driving by under age drivers as they were not aware of traffic rules and regulations.
He said the juvenile drivers drove rashly, indulged in over speeding and one wheeling which put other’s life in danger.
The CTO said the wardens had been directed that under age drivers should not be given any concession and their vehicles should be impounded besides imposing fine.
He said it was prime duty of the parents not to hand over keys of the vehicle until they get a driving license. He urged citizens to cooperate with the traffic police so that precious lives could be saved. —APP
