Journalists to be consulted on ‘Right to Information Bill’

Islamabad—The CPNE Standing Committee meeting here discussed issues related to newspapers and journalists including their reservations over the proposed ‘Right to Information Bill’.The CPNE President Zia Shahid, Secretary-General Ejaz-ul-Haq and other members of the standing committee including Gauhar Zahid Malik, Executive Editor Pakistan Observer attended the meeting. PID Rao Tehseen Ali Khan assured the meeting on behalf of the government that ‘Right to Information Bill’ will be passed after consultation with journalists. He said ‘Information Commission’ will also be set up under the bill. President CPNE, Zia Shahid thanked the government for its assurance.
