JICA hands over technical machinery to 5 WASAs

Some high end and internationally used mechanical equipment was handed over to the five WASAs in Punjab in a ceremony held at Al-Jazari Academy under the project “Improving Capacities of WASAs in Punjab”. The machinery was given by japan International Cooperation Agency.
The ceremony was attended by the officials of all five of WASAs in Punjab, JICA expert team, Urban Unit Senior team, Al-Jazari Academy faculty and course participants who had attended various technical courses in the academy.
Dr. Kiran Farhan, Principal Al- Jazari Academy briefed about the Capacity Building Project technically supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in her opening remarks and emphasized on proper and effective utilization of these equipment for preventing and repairing leakages.
“Our task is to facilitate the WASAs and their staff with capacity building sessions, coordination between them and JICA and exchange of study visits. By handing over this technically sound equipment, we are looking forward to see improved functioning of all five WASAs in Punjab,” she said in her speech.
