Afghan CG, Spain envoy call on Governor
Peshawar—Peshawar-based Afghan Consul General, Dr. Abdullah Waheed Poyan called on the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra here at Governor’s House. He remained with the Governor for some time and discussed matters of mutual interest with particular reference of Afghan refugees in the province and situation in the region.
During the meeting, the Governor apprised the Afghan Consul General about the steps are being taken to ensure the provision of the facilities to legal Afghan Refugees and assured him that all possible facilities would be provided them.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Ambassador of Spain to Pakistan, Mr. Carlos Cesar Morales Sanchez called on the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra here at Governor’s House. The distinguished guest remained with the Governor for some time and discussed matters of mutual interest with special reference to the situation in the region.
The Governor also highlighted the steps underway for ensuring sustainable peace and stability particularly in FATA and pointed out that government is taking the respective people along in all its measures for ensuring better future for them. Talking on various points, the governor also apprised the ambassador about the steps and endeavours of the government to ensure the dignified return and rehabilitation of TDPs in FATA.
He said socio-economic uplift of the people of FATA would continue to remain a top priority with special focus on improvement and provision of better health and educational facilities to the tribesmen. Governor also welcomed the international community for their support in further strengthening the ongoing efforts of the government in this regard.
