Jhagra urges medics to contribute for national uplift

The Governor KP, Eng.Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Monday urged the medical professionals to contribute devoted role towards development of the nation and the country as well.
He said that the persons associated with the profession of medical sciences should make the service to ailing humanity as their core aim, the institutions of higher learningare the centres of excellence in carrying out research and disseminating knowledge and there is a need to put special efforts upon further promoting research activities.
He was addressing as a chief at the 1st Convocation of Khyber Medical College, Hayatabad Peshawar on Monday.
He stressed that the government, parents of students and the society as a whole have pinned great expectations to the graduating medical professionals and it is hoped that all of them will come up to the expectations of the nation.
While highlighting the importance of health profession, the Governor said, it is mandatory for health professionals to maintain high moral and professional standards enhance professional knowledge and skills follow the respective ethics and above all work with commitment and serve the ailing humanity with dedication.
“Indeed, society owes the huge responsibility in making the educational facilities of desired standards available to the students of medical education for making this possible,” he added. Congratulating the young graduates, the Governor said that the convocations are the memorable events in lives of graduates and they all must feel honoured for being part of this convocation, which is the first event of its kind.
Beside others, the Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical College, Prof: Dr. Muhammad Hafizullah, founder of the institution Prof Dr. Muhammad Rehman and Principal of Rehman Medical College were also present on the occasion.
