Peshawar—Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has approved different development schemes of over Rs3.2 billion for the uplift and and prosperity of Federal Administered Tribal areas. He said that with special focus on the TDPs return and their rehabilitation all out efforts are being made to ensure the sustainable peace and socio economic development of tribal region. He said Tribal region needs realistic development and directed the concerned officials to accelerate the ongoing development projects in FATA.
He expressed these views while chairing a 2nd meeting of the FATA Development Council (FDC) here at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House on Monday. Besides, Joint Secretary SAFRON, Tariq Hayat, Additional chief secretary FATA, Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, Principal Secretary to Governor, Sikandar Qayum, Secretary Law & Order FATA, Shakil qadir, Secretary AI&C FATA Zaheer ul Islam, Secretary Social sector FATA, Waqar ul Hassan, Officials from Planning Commission of Pakistan, heads of all departments in FATA and other relevant officials from FATA Secretariat also attended the meeting.
A detailed briefing was also given to the governor regarding the rehablilitation and development schemes in FATA.
During the meeting, FATA Development Council under the chairmanship of the governor approved the total development outlay of Rs. 3.2 billion for the 14 development schemes in FATA.
In which Rs. 294 million has been approved for the construction of commercial market in North Waziristan Agency.
