International cricketer Javeria’s unbeaten 101 knock guided FATA Strikers to a convincing 118 runs victory against Rawalpindi Hitters in the group match of the first Women Twenty20 Cricket Super League being played here at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium on Friday.
FATA Javeria Rauf won the toss and elected to bat first by setting up 188 runs target with opener Javeria Rauf hammered a cracking 101 runs not out with nine boundaries and two sixes. She controlled the one end despite the other opener Sana Arooj gone early for 9 runs only.
Ayesha also supported Javeria Rauf well with her elegant knock of 43 runs including four boundaries and one six. Both added 90 runs partnership for the second wicket. After Ayesha and Javeria the other batters failed to click and did not cross the double figures.
This was Javeria Rauf’s second century in the tournament as she is so far holding the highest scorer place with two centuries. For Rawalpindi Hitters Naila Nazir, the skipper, claimed three wickets for 30 runs in her for four runs. Rimsha Malik got one wicket for 13 runs in her one over spell. Hajra, Madiha, Rimsha Bhatti, Sana were two expensive given 32, 43, 35 runs respectively in their 3 overs spell each.—APP
