Jamaat demands implementation of UN Kashmir rulings

Srinagar—In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami has demanded the settlement of Kashmir dispute through UN resolutions, repeal of draconian laws, an end to human rights violations and unconditional release of all illegally-detained Hurriyet leaders and activists.
A meeting of JI Advisory Council was held in Srinagar with party President, Ghulam Mohammad Butt in chair. Besides organizational matters, the meeting thoroughly discussed the overall situation in the territory.At the end of the meeting, a resolution was passed that all pending disputes including the lingering Kashmir dispute should be resolved for establishment of permanent peace and prosperity in the world.
Through another resolution, Pakistan and India were stressed to take solid steps for settling the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. The meeting also urged the world community and international human rights organizations to take notice of the Indian state terrorism in the territory. It also prayed for speedy recovery of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman Syed Ali Gilani.—KMS
