Jahangir Badar laid to rest

Lahore—The funeral prayers of senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former federal minister Jahangir Badar were offered on Monday. Later on the dead body of Jehangir Badar was laid to rest in Miami Sahib Graveyard in Lahore. The senior politician died of cardiac arrest in Lahore late Sunday night.
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Governor Punjab Malik Muhammad Rafiq Rajwana, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmed shah, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, former prime ministers Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Raja Parvez Ashraf, Opposition Leader in Senate Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, Mulana Tariq Jameel, Federal Railways Minister Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafiq, Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, PPP leader Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, Aslam Gill, senor politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, PTI leader Mian Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rashid, former governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Vice Chancellor Punjab University Dr Mujahid Kamran, PML-N Lahore President Parvez Malik, and leaders of different parties attended the funeral prayer. The funeral prayer was offered at Punjab University’s Law College ground.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has announced three-day mourning over the demise of party’s senior politician and former general secretary Jahangir Badar.
According to Prime Minister Spokesman, the PM condoled with Jahangir Badar family and in his condolence message, the PM prayed for departed soul of the PPP leader.
The PM said that Jahangir Badar services for strengthening country’s security will not be forgotten and always be remembered. The premier said that Jahangir Badar always worked for democracy and he was political asset and his political services are pride for the country.
Pakistan People Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has expressed sorrow over death of the party leader Jahangir Badar adding that Badar always strived hard for establishment of democracy in the country.
The co-chairman said that “Jahangir Badar was brave jiyala of the party who whole of his life struggled for the PPP and always fight for democracy.”
Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that he was saddened after hearing Jehangir Badar death and added that “Jahangir Badar was always stick to his ideology and made his name after doing politics from lower level and till his last breath he remained loyal and true worker of his party”.—SABAH
