ITA to notify new transport fares

Islamabad—Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration had decided to reduce public transport fares to provide relief to the commuters after a major decline in the price of petroleum products in the country.
Talking to APP, Secretary Islamabad Transport Authority (ITA) Shazia Qazi said the notification regarding the new transport fares would be issued in a day or two in a bid to pass on the benefit of recent fall in oil price to the general public.
She said the fares for inter city and within city transport routes would be reduced in accordance to the Punjab Transport Authority (PTA)’s notification.
It may be mentioned here that currently Rs 12 were being charged from stop to stop by the transporters in the federal capital. The recent fall in the price of oil has a significant impact in reducing transport and other business costs.—APP
