Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) forecasted isolated thunderstorm/ rain over Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Sarghoda, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Lahore, D.G Khan Divisions along with Notheast Baolochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir for the next 24 hours.The Flood Forecasting Division also predicted isolated thunderstorm/rain is expected over the upper catchments of Rivers Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi & Sutlej during the next 24 hours.According to Hydrological Situation River Kabul at Nowshera is in low flood level and all other major rivers are flowing in their state of normal flow, nullahs of river Ravi may attain low to medium level flooding during June 27 to June 30.
Yesterday’s through westerly wave over northern parts of the country persists, while marked seasonal low lies over Northeast Balochistan. Most current from Arabian Sea is penetrating upper parts of the country upto 300 feet and is likely to intensify from Bay of Bengal as well during next three days.
Moderate to heavy falls at scattered places with dust storm is expected over Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Lahore, Gujranwal divisions along with upper catchments of Rivers Ravi, Chenab and Sutlej. Moderate Railfall with heavy falls at isolated places is expected over the upper catchment of River Jhelum, along with Rawalpindi, Sarghoda and Bahawalpur.—APP
