I condemn Sunday’s horrific terrorist attack in Lahore. A year ago, while on a business trip to Lahore, I walked in the beautiful Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park and saw a wonderful flower show. Now the same park has witnessed unimaginable horrors. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the people of Pakistan. This terrorist attack is a reminder that the war on terrorism is not over, that terrorist organisations have not been defeated, and that they continue to pose a threat to the world.
We must all commit our efforts against these violent enemies and we must prevail in this fight against violent extremism. This attack in Lahore has aggrieved peace-loving people all over the world. Today we all stand together and mourn as brothers and sisters. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families. My heart is crying for all the innocent people who have been murdered in any country and belonged to any religion or race. We are all humans, regardless of our personal views and we are all affected by these terrorists who want to spread a message of hate and oppression.
