Is it a conspiracy against CPEC?

AT a time when a convoy of Chinese trucks carrying exports goods reached Gwadar on Saturday marking operationalisation of multi billion dollars CPEC, Balochistan was once again rocked by a big explosion killing as many as fifty-two people and injuring more than one hundred others. The explosion hit a crowd of devotees participating in a ceremony at the shrine of Sufi Saint Shah Noorani in Khuzdar district.
Timing of the blast and selection of a shrine for the heinous act should leave no doubt in everybody’s minds that enemy harbours sordid designs to trigger sectarian chaos and anarchy in the strategically located province to undermine the CPEC. We believe stringent and immediate measures must be taken in entire country and particularly in Balochistan to thwart enemy designs against future, prosperity of the country. In recent times, the province has seen some of the worst terror attacks including the one on lawyers and police training centre which claimed lives of hundreds of people. These attacks took place despite security alerts issued by intelligence agencies well in time. All this only manifests lack of coordination amongst intelligence and law enforcement agencies — a lapse that needs to be plugged immediately. With start of trade activity from Gwadar deep sea port, our long cherished dream is coming true which would definitely herald a new era for the country. We could not afford to this miss this opportunity under any circumstances as it is the matter of changing lives and fortunes of our people who over the last decade or so have only seen death, destruction and deprivation. It is time that government embarks upon both political and security measures to address the situation in Balochistan. Peace in this province is very vital to make the CPEC successful and accrue maximum benefits from it. As a nation it is also our responsibility to stand united to foil conspiracies of our eternal enemy against the game changer project.
