Iranian Consul General Mohammad Reza Nazeri Thursday called upon Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah at the GC University Lahore to express condolences on the sad demise Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Saqib, the associate professor of the university’s Persian Department.
Dr Saqib, 58, last week, suffered from a cardiac arrest while conducting interviews of students for admissions at the university‘s Bukhari Auditorium.
He was rushed to Mayo Hospital where he passed away. The Iranian Consul General appreciated the services of Dr Sqiab for promotion of Persian language in Pakistan. He also pledged to provide more support to the GCU Persian Department for research.
Vice Chancellor Prof Hassan Shah termed Dr Saqib’s death a big loss for GCU, saying that the Persian teacher would always be remembered for his services for the university. He said Dr Saqib was a good teacher and researcher and a very kind human being.
GCU Dean Faculty of Languages Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Shahid, Quality Enhancement Cell Director Iram Sohail, Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar and Dr Babar Naseem Assi were also present on this occasion.
