Iqbal’s birth anniversary celebrated

Islamabad—Allama Iqbal Council organized an event to celebrate the birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal at Pakistan National Council of Arts auditorium today. Vice chancellors of universities, ambassadors of various Islamic countries, renowned scholars, civil servants and a large number of students participated in this event. Renowned scholars including Ata-ul-haq Qasmi, Khurshid Nadeem, Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, ambassadors of Turkey, Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia, Anwar Masood, Jaleel Aali, Ahsaan Akbar, grandson of Iqbal Muneeb Iqbal, advisor to the Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui , spoke on this occasion. The ceremony aimed to highlight the messages, thoughts and ideology of Allama Iqbal, a great National poet.
Iqbal was a great poet and philosopher and a legend who gave us a vision which later on became the reality in the form of Pakistan. He fused a revolutionary spirit in the nation through his poetry. If we are a live nation, then we must follow the philosophy and messages of Iqbal.
Nations all around the world pay tribute to him. This was said by Mr. Irfan Siddiqui, Advisor to the Prime Minister, while addressing the occasion as the chief guest. Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, while addressing the audience, said that we must remember our savior. His philosophy is still valid and is read widely across the world. Iqbal gave importance to younger generation and wrote many poems for them. They must regard his divine efforts, beliefs, wisdom and ideology. The poetry of Iqbal is for all ages and cultures, he added.
Ambassador of Tajikistan, Sher Ali, said that Iqbal is not confined to Pakistan, but he is the poet of the whole region and the world. Turkish Ambassdaor, Mr. Babar Girgin said that Iqbal is the true visionary and the poet of whole humanity.
Grandson of Iqbal, Mr. Muneeb Iqbal, also addressed the audience and said that Iqbal played a significant role in the creation of Pakistan.
