Iqbal day

November 09 is the birthday of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the national poet of the country and the one who gave the concept of a separate homeland for Muslims of Subcontinent. He stands tall in the annals of history after Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It is irony of fate that we, the people of Pakistan, show least respect to our national heroes, national game, national flower and all other national respectable emblems. The government’s denial of public holiday on Iqbal’s Day is a sequence of this series. Iqbal Day should be celebrated in a befitting and eye-catching manner. The message pf Iqbal must be inculcated in the tender minds of children and youth by organizing special functions on this day which should be attended by parents also. It is hoped that suggestion will not fall on deaf ears.
