Int’l cricket ground to be constructed at Rawal Road

Rawalpindi—Chairman Metro Project, Hanif Abbasi has said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is taking keen interest for promoting sports and International standard cricket play ground, Jim Khana, swimming pool and hockey stadium will be constructed at Rawal Road Rawalpindi at a cost of Rs 200 million..
He was addressing the Ist Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Rawalpindi Inter UC’s Flood light tournament held at Government Post graduate college for Boys 6th Road.
Hanif Abbasi said, sports were essential for physical and mental health of the youth and no one could deny its importance.
Pakistan Muslim League-N government was spending billions of rupees in education and health sectors and a number of mega projects had been completed within a short time, he added.
He said Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) had been completed which was capable of carrying out all kinds of surgeries and catering to the needs of the poor.
Hanif Abbasi said that Urology state-of-the-art hospital would be completed by June next year.
A total 19 teams were participating in the tournament.
Among others, MPA Raja Hanif advocate, PML-N President City chapter Sardar Nasim, General Secretary Muslim Student Federation Punjab Maqbool Ahmed Khan, Arslan Hafeez, Tournament Coordinator Snobar Gull and a large number of athletes were present on the occasion.—APP
