‘Innovation’ obligatory for economic growth: Baligh

Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Engr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman on Tuesday stressed to be the part of Innovation drive as a nation and termed it a key to economic growth and obligatory for achieving a respectable position among the comity of nations. He expressed these views while speaking as a Chief Guest at a signing ceremony of Institutional agreements between Intellectual Property Organization (IPO-Pakistan), Higher Education Commission (HEC) and 23 Universities for establishment of Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISC) Network in the country.
The event was attended by Muhammad IrfanTarar, Director General, IPO-Pakistan and Vice Chancellors of 23 universities across the country. While addressing the signing ceremony, the minister said, “It is not simply enough to recognize the significance of innovation for economic growth. It is also important to understand how innovation happens, strengthens and is driven”.—APP
