Industrialization helps reduce crime rate: Karachi police chief

The Additional IGP Sindh and Karachi Police Chief Mushtaq Ahmed Mehar has said that industrialization helps reduce crime rates, if other institutions perform their responsibility properly, it will also reduce burden on police. The Karachi Police Chief expressed these views at a reception hosted by Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), said a press release of the KATI here on Saturday.
He said that the process of setting up Response Centre had been completed that would help reduce crime rate.
The patron-in-Chief S.M.Muneer, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Zubair Chaiya, Vice President KATI Junaid Naqi and members of the executive committee also expressed their views. S.M.Muneer lauded the performance of Law Enforcing Agncies for restoration of peace in the city. He said that that though law and order problem had been resolved, yet economic challenges were still there. President KATI Tariq Malik lauded the services of Mushtaq Mehar and said that he is known as an honest and dedicated police officer.
He expressed the hope that Karachi Police Chief will utilize all his energy for curbing crimes from the city. Other members of the executive committee also demanded increase in police patrolling in Korangi.—Agencies
