In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh acts of state terrorism, martyred four Kashmiri youth in Islamabad district, Thursday.
The troops killed three youth during a siege and search operation in Arwani area of the district. The killings triggered massive anti-India demonstrations in Islamabad and Kulgam districts. People took to the streets in Arwani, Bijbehara, Sangam, Vesu, Qazigund, Islamabad, Qaimoh, Khudwani, Kulgam and other areas. They shouted high-pitched pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. Indian police and troops resorted to heavy teargas shelling and lathi-charge to disperse the protesters. One civilian was killed and many others were injured in the troops action in Arwani area. The troops also beat up the photojournalists covering the protests and damaged their cameras. The puppet authorities have suspended mobile phone and internet services in Islamabad. Thousands of people including Hurriyet leaders attended the funeral prayers of the martyred youth. Indian police arrested Hurriyet leader, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, after the funeral and lodged him in Islamabad police station.
Hurriyet leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Javed Ahmed Mir and the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party in their statements paid glowing tributes to the martyred youth. They said that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and their mission would be accomplished at all costs.
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference leaders, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, visited Lethpora area of Pulwama, today, and expressed solidarity with the families of two martyred youth, Suhail Ahmad Wani and Farooq Ahmad Kuchhay. These youth were killed by the troops during the ongoing uprising.
