Indian crackdown against pro-freedom people is state terror

Srinagar—In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and other Hurriyet leaders have termed the crackdown on pro-freedom camp as the worst display of state terrorism, saying that India has converted Kashmir into a jail.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued Tuesday in Srinagar said, “On one hand, we are confined to our homes and on the other, Indian forces are showering bullets on our youth.” He said that many youth were also put behind the bars. “Such oppressive tactics are not going to stop us from fighting for our basic rights,” he stated.
Syed Ali Gilani said that the draconian law, Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) was the real problem and if the Act was not withdrawn, the trigger-happy forces’ personnel would continue to kill innocent Kashmiri youth.
The Chairman of his own Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement said that curbs on movement of pro-freedom leaders reflected the ill mindset of the authorities. “We are being confined to our homes and people are being killed by forces. This is the worst form of state terrorism and we strongly condemn it. Caging us is height of oppression,” he said.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in his statement, lashed out at pro-India politicians and called them as puppets of Indian Army.—KMS
