Preparations for Independence Day celebrations gained momentum in the provincial capital with an increased number of stalls, displaying national flags, bunting, coloured dresses and other accessories.
The stalls have been set up at markets, bazaars and streets of the city. Shopkeepers are playing national songs to attract the customers.
People from all age groups, especially children, were showing keen interest in buying I-Day related items and started hoisting flags at their home rooftops.
Lahore Arts Council has planned to hold speech competition on August 11 among students of school and colleges titled “Independence is a great blessing.”
The City District Government Lahore will also arrange a ceremony at deputy commissioner’s office. Divisional sports department has also devised sports activities plan to mark Independence Day celebrations.
