Terming the Jamiat-e-Ulema-Islam Secretary General Maulana Fazlur Reham as magnet, which is drawn to power the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Sunday sounded optimistic to inflict crushing defeat on JUI in Bannu.
“Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is a power seeking missile, which is drawn to power as he has been in governments since 2002”. The PTI Supremo said while addressing a bid public rally in Bannu where he will be contesting on NA-35 against a close aide of Maulana Fazl and former Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akram Khan Durrani in his home constituency and where he has a rather large vote bank.
Imran Khan rapped Maulana Fazlur Rehman for doing nothing for the Kashmir cause being Chairman of the Kashmir Committee adding “the JUI-F Chief cannot be a religious scholar after selling himself out for diesel permit”.
He also came hard on JUI-F Chief associate Akram Khan Durrani who also remained Federal Minister in the previous government saying the condition of Maulana Fazal and his associate improved a lot but that of Bannu deteriorated.
He advised people to ask Akram Khan Durrani as to what has he done in Bannu when the latter comes for asking vote adding that people like Akram Khan Durrani have held the country hostage. “Ask him about where the allocated money was spent”. Imran said adding he will be contesting elections for NA-35 Bannu against ‘Pharaoh’.
The cricketer turned politician lamented that the condition of the country has worsened as the US dollar has risen to Rs.125 against 60 during the past ten years. He said no one but the PTI government launched electricity generating projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Imran said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf does not claim to have turned Peshawar into Paris but you can compare our efforts with those two parties who ruled three times each. “Compare KP’s police system today with those who’ve been in power the last six times.” Imran said. He asked the participants to compare Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police with that of Punjab saying that number of doctors has risen to 9000 from 3000 in the province. He said that system of education and health in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is better than that of the entire Pakistan. “Ask local government representatives all over Pakistan. They’ll tell you they want a system like KP.” Imran claimed.
Imran will be contesting election from five constituencies. Besides, NA-35 Bannu the PTI Supremo will contest from NA-95 Mianwali, NA-131 Lahore, NA-53 Islamabad and NA-243 constituency of Karachi.
