Illiteracy rate in Balochistan

Mehraj Altaf
Turbat, Balochistan

It is an undeniable fact that education is the backbone of every successful nation but the backbone in Balochistan is being broken while authorities dealing with education are not paying any attention on it. The children who are out of school are likely to be the victim of child labour.
In Balochistan most of the schools are not well-equipped and not having well-qualified teachers including playgrounds, clean water, safety walls and many other issues which are being faced by the students. In most of the schools, there is only one teacher and that he too doesn’t come daily. If no concrete and worthwhile measures are not taken to solve this/these problem(s), the already low literacy rate would further come down. Something must be done!
