The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) organized an Inter-University Chess Championship, where as many as 80 students of more than 10 universities took part.
The championship was organized by sports directorate and students advisor office of the university, a press release said on Sunday.
QAU, NUST, Bahria, MAJU, UET Taxila, Arid Agriculture, NUML, FAST and other universities showed their talent in the event.
The championship titled was grabbed by Jahanzaib of Pir Mehr Ali Shah, Agriculture University, while the second position was taken by Musavir of Riphah international. The third position was claimed by Nabil of Allama Iqbal Open University.
Dr Aqds Naveed Malik, Vice President, IIUI distributed trophies and prizes among the winners and also hailed their talent.
Dr Tariq Javed, students advisor, IIUI vowed on the occasion that the university would keep arranging such activities in future as well.
The organizer, Masood Khattak said that he event was meant to promote IIUI’s soft image and engage youth in positive and healthy activity.—APP
