IHK comes under world spotlight

RENEWED Intifada of Kashmiris has sent a loud and clear message to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that his agenda to shun talks and instead rely solely on suppressive tactics to address the longstanding dispute, would not work and that Kashmiris are determined to fight back come what may for their legitimate struggle for right to self-determination. So far forty Kashmiris have been killed by Indian occupation forces besides inflicting injuries on hundreds of others in the latest spree of killings but New Delhi has miserably failed to dampen the spirit of the Kashmiri people.
India claims to be the world’s largest democracy but the way it is using lethal weapons and live ammunition against peaceful protestors has exposed its brutal face before the international community. Curfew has been imposed and the leadership of All Parties Hurriyat Conference arrested but Kashmiris are braving all atrocities and expressing resolve not to accept anything less than end of the Indian occupation. India’s attempt to camouflage its repressive actions by terming the volatile situation as its internal affair has started receiving rebuke from the world community. The US State Department has declared that Kashmir is not an internal matter of India and that the violence should come to an end. Hopefully, other members of the global community too would take serious cognisance of grave human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir as Pakistan is active on diplomatic front to sensitise influential capitals about plight of Kashmiris and barbarities of the occupation forces. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has declared that Pakistan will continue to support the cause of Kashmiris and PML-N AJK Chapter is observing black day today (Friday) to mourn those who have become victim to Indian brutalities. Hopefully, special Cabinet meeting would come out with a coherent strategy to highlight the cause of Kashmiri people and to expose India’s real face. Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, who has good rapport with important capitals, has also urged the world to respect desires of Kashmiris. Kashmiris were looking towards peaceful settlement of the dispute but Modi Government has pushed them to the wall and they are now up in arms against Indian occupation. We hope that the just-minded members of the world community would raise their voice forcefully in favour of Kashmiris who are demanding nothing but their birthright.
