IHC rejects plea to record statements of witness on same day

Tayyaba torture case
The Islamabad High Court rejected Wednesday Advocate General Islamabad’s plea to record statements of all three doctors jointly on same day who prepared medical report of Tayyaba’s torture case, a minor house mad.
Justice Aamir Farooq announced reserved judgment on the application moved by the Advocate General Mian Abdul Raof to record statements of all witnesses on same day.
While rejecting the plea bench issued notice to Doctor. Tariq, a member of the medical board constituted to examine alleged tortured house mad to record his statement as witness, on November 24.
It is pertinent to mention here that all three doctors were cited as witness from the applicant (Istigasa) side.
Tayyaba who was allegedly tortured by former additional district and sessions judge (ADSJ) Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife, was rescued from his house in Islamabad with visible wounds on December 28, 2016. A First Information Report was registered against him and his wife, Maheen Zafar, on December 29, 2016.—APP
