IHC disposes off PTI petition regarding locking-down city

Islamabad—Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday disposed off a plea against the decision of single bench restraining Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) from locking down the city. A division bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Gul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the case filed by Muhammad Bilal challenging the verdict of single bench.
During the hearing, the petitioner informed the court that he wanted to withdraw his petition after the announcement of PTI to observe “Youm e Tushakar” at designated place. The court disposed off the petition as withdrawn
It may be mentioned here that the petitioner had stated in intra court appeal that several facts were ignored in the decision of single bench. He added that the court didn’t give patient hearing to PTI during the proceedings of the case. He prayed the court to set aside the October 31, decision. Earlier the IHC had directed PTI to hold protest at designated place and avoid locking down federal capital.—APP
