The Islamabad High Court Monday disposed of contempt of court petition against Chairman National Database and Registration Authority, (NADRA) on assurance of the chairman to connect whole system of the capital with biometric.
Mr. Justice, Noorul-Haq-N Qureshi disposed of the plea moved by Waqas Malik, former secretary IHC Bar Association against the Chairman.
Malik pleaded before the court that in 2010, the IHC directed chairman NADRA to ensure access to the Biometric System to FIA and police to examine revenue record but it was not obeyed yet. He alleged that even passing so many years, NADRA authorities were not ready to comply with court orders which came under the contempt of court proceeding.
The court after hearing the arguments of the litigants and getting admission of the chairman NADRA that court’s order would be implemented with letter and spirit, disposed of the contempt petition.
Rabia Orangzaib representative of Chief Commissioner Office Islamabad, Khizer Hayyat from Ministry of Interior, Zia Uddin Azhar representative of Establishment Division and Anait Ullah Khan counsel for the Chairman NADRA appeared before the court in compliance with court orders.
