IHC dismisses plea to put Nawaz on ECL

ISLAMABAD Islamabad High Court dismissed Intra Court Appeal (ICA) seeking direction for Interior Ministry to put the name of former prime minister and President of PML-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Exit Control List (ECL).

 

A division bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Miangul Hasan Aurengzeb dismissed the ICA after hearing the arguments at length placed by Makhdoom Niaz Inqilabi counsel for the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

 

Mr. Inqilabi argued that as corruption references were being trailed in the accountability court against Sharif Family however my client had great concerned that Mr. Nawaz might be flee from the country adding that his presence in the country necessary for the logical conclusion of the cases.

 

He requested the bench to put the name of former prime minister on ECL till the outcome of the cases being heard in accountability court.

 

The bench after hearing the arguments, observed that the petition was not maintainable and would liable to be dismissed. NNI
