IHC directs police to lodge FIR against accused

Abduction of ex-army official

Islamabad—The Islamabad High Court directed Margalla police to lodge FIR against an accused for alleged abduction of Major (retd) Khurram Hameed Khan.
A single-judge bench of Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi heard the case moved by Saba Khurram, wife of Major (retired) Khurram Hameed Khan against the alleged abduction of her husband by two of his business partners, Hafeezullah and Ikramullah Qaiser.
Dr Babar Awan counsel for the petitioner apprised the bench that Khurram Hameed Khan was running a security company and he was picked up from the jurisdiction of Margalla police station in January this year.
Awan said that an application was given to the SHO to recover the “missing person” but all in vain. The petitioner had strongly believed that her husband was abducted by his business partners, Awan added.
He requested the court to direct the police to register the case as per Saba’s complaint.
Whereas on previous hearing of the case the police submitted a report before the court with the statement that former military man was never abducted within the jurisdiction of the capital. Subsequently, after hearing the arguments of the litigants the court directed the police to register a case as per Saba’s complaint and disposed of the matter.—APP
