Seeking Daesh support in Pakistan
Islamabad—Interior Ministry has submitted before the Islamabad High Court that it has sought opinion of the Ministry of Law with regard to a petition seeking FIR against Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Aziz. An official of the Interior Ministry informed Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the IHC that opinion has been sought from the Law Ministry whether it was as per law to register FIR against Aziz for seeking Daesh support in Pakistan.
The court after examining the interior ministry official’s statement adjourned the matter till July 12. However, the court directed Advocate General of Islamabad to assist the court on next date of hearing
It may be mentioned during the last hearing Joint Secretary Ministry of Interior Muhammad Suleman had submitted before the IHC that neither Moulana Abdul Aziz of Lal Masjid nor students of Jamia Hafsa were running any kind of institution that poses any threat to the security and safety of the state.
IHC is hearing a petition by Muhammad Jibran Nasir a social worker who has been seeking registration of FIR against the Lal masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz, his wife Umm-e-Hassan and students of Jamia Hafsa for inviting Daesh or ISIS to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden and the operation Lal Masjid operation.
He says that Jamia Hafsa female students through a video message invited ISIS to avenge killing of Bin Laden and Lal Masjid operation. The petitioner has said that Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Aziz in another video message had endorsed the version of his female students that again “poses grave danger to the safety and security of Pakistan.”
