IGP Sindh reviews steps for curbing crimes

Karachi—The Inspector General of Police (IGP), A.D. Khawaja, on Saturday chaired a meeting regarding the upgradation of Madadgar 15. A statement said that the meeting also reviewed steps for effectively curbing crimes.
It said that the meeting considered issues faced by Madadgar 15 such as response time, call connecting and prank calls etc and sought suggestions for resolving these issues.
The meeting decided that the Madadgar 15 call centre would now work under the supervision of Karachi police.
The DIG South Munir Shaikh has been appointed as the focal person and a four-member technology committee has also been formed.
Meeting also called for evolving the Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) for acquiring software and required technological equipment so that approval could be sought from the Government of Sindh.IGP directed that in every police station in the metropolis there should be a mobile with police deployment for Madadgar 15 and required steps be taken for quick response.
He said that services be also hired of IT experts for Madadgar 15 besides seeking assistance from the CPLC representatives.
