IGP lauds professional standard of SSU

Karachi—Inspector General of Police Sindh A.D. Khawaja commended the professional policing standard maintained in the Special Security Unit (SSU) with reference to course of work in management, administration and counter terrorism operations.
This he observed during his visit to Special Security Unit Headquarters here Friday. AIGP Security Sindh Police Maqsood Ahmed briefed about the different sections of the SSU including promise of peace project, outlined its benefits for the citizens, mode of working, Security Vision-2020, specialization and efforts to establish Police Emergency Response Centre – 911.
IGP Sindh has appreciated the initiatives of AIGP Security Maqsood Ahmed for launching promise of peace project and emphasized the need for its early completion without any delay.
The AIGP also informed that a Counter Terrorism University would also be setup to make available learning and research facilities of international standard focusing on study, research, identity, ideology, new trend of terrorism and modus operandi of terrorists.
The University will cater to development of latest training facilities for police personnel of all ranks in view of changing trend of criminals and terrorists strategy, he added.—APP
