Islamabad—As many as 245 cases were registered in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) regarding crimes against women and children since 2013 to April 30, this year.
Cases regarding crimes against women are usually registered under domestic violence, honor killing, burning, sexual assault, and harassment at workplaces while crimes against children cases are mainly concerned with abduction, sexual assault and forced labourers.
According to data available here, 48 cases were registered regarding crimes against women in 2013, 33 in 2014, 79 in 2015 and 36 in first four months of the current year. Whereas the cases regarding crimes against children registered during the same time span revealed that 11 reports filed in 2013, followed by 13 in 2014, 20 in 2015 and four till April 30, this year.
The official data regarding crimes against women further revealed that 27 cases of domestic violence were registered in 2013.
