ICP win BISE overall trophy

Peshawar—Islamia College Peshawar clinched the overall trophy while Abid of the same was declared as best athlete of the Year-2015-16 here at the concluding day of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Inter-College Boys Games here at BISE premises on Tuesday.
Secretary BISE Bakhtiar Ahmad Khan was the chief guest on this occasion. Controller of the Examination BISE Peshawar Hamid Ullah Jan, Director Sports Manzar Khan and Principals of various participating colleges, DPEs, officials, and players were also present.
In his annual report Director Sports Manzar Khan said that they have organized a total of 13 games wherein all the affiliated colleges took part. The Games comprising Table Tennis, Tug-of-War, Cross Country, Badminton, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Hockey, Basketball, Football, Tennis, Squash and Netball.
Islamia College secured 48 points by winning the overall trophy received by Professor Muhammad Sadiq. Islamia College won the titles of badminton, cross country, volleyball, athletics, hockey, basketball, football, squash, and tennis. He also thanked Secretary KP Tug-of-War Association Taj Muhammad for helping the board in organizing both male and female tug-of-war events this time in Charsadda, Shabqadar and Peshawar.
In his speech, Secretary BISE Peshawar Bakhtiar Ahmad Khan lauded the performance of the players and urged upon the students to take active part in sports activities. He advised the students to continue their healthy activities. He also appreciated promising athlete Abid Khan for winning best athlete trophy.—APP
