Hurriyat leaders grieved over death of Habibullah Khan


In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have expressed grief over the demise of the caretaker of Martyrs’ Graveyard, at Eidgah in Srinagar, Haji Habibullah Khan, and termed his death as a big loss.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement issued in Srinagar while hailing Habibullah Khan’s contribution said, “Late Habibullah looked after Mazar-e-Shuhada, Eidgah, for long time.” He prayed for his heavenly abode and extended his condolences to the bereaved family.
An APHC delegation including Hakim Abdul Rasheed, Syed Muhammad Shafi and Muhammad Saleem Zarger participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased.
The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, visited Eidgah and led the funeral prayers of Habibullah Khan in which a large number of people participated. “Habibullah Khan was a committed soldier who remained steadfast towards his duty till his last breath,” Mirwaiz said in a statement.
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in his statement in Srinagar expressing his grief over the demise of Haji Habibullah Khan said that his contribution and sacrifices would always be remembered in Kashmir history. A JKLF delegation comprising Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and Bashir Ahmed Kashmiri participated in his funeral prayers of the deceased and condoled with the bereaved family.
The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, in a statement also expressed his deep sorrow over the demise of Habibullah Khan. He said late Habibullah has contributed a lot in social service. He prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and for forbiddance for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.—KMS
