Human shield case: IOK HC seeks status report in 2 weeks

Srinagar

In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has directed the puppet administration to inform it within two weeks about the investigation of the case against an Indian Army Major Leetul Gogoi in a human shield incident.
The bench of Justice M K Hanjura granted two week time to the puppet authorities to file the status report.
The direction came after the court heard senior advocate, Zafar Qureshi, representing Farooq Dar, who was tied to the bonnet of an Army jeep by Major Leetul Gogoi on April 9 this year during the so-called Indian Parliamentary by-elections in Srinagar-Budgam constituency.
Farooq Dar had approached the court seeking directions for investigation of the case and filing of charge-sheet in the court. Major Gogoi had tied Farooq Dar to the bonnet of jeep as a human shield and paraded him in several villages.—KMS
