Huge rush witnessed at outlets due to ID celebrations

Long queues were witnessed at the different outlets on Sunday, providing 25% to 50% discount to their customers with the celebrations of 72th Independence day .
There was unusual hustle and Huge rush witnessed at different branded outlets in the city across where customers were seeing busy to purchase garments ,shoes and other items.
While the sales of Independence Day related items have increased sharply as there is only one day left for it , the nation appears more enthusiastic in celebrating August 14 this year breaking all sales records of previous years, traders said.
The number of roadside stalls increased by more than 50pc compared to previous years,President Traders Association Sharjeel Mir said while talking to APP on Sunday.
“It seems people of Rawalpindi are being extra enthusiastic than people from other parts of the country,” he said.
Meanwhile, festive activities , fireworks , musical shows,family gallas and illumination of government and private buildings are being carried out on large scale.
“Interestingly, some religious institutions and mosques are arranging flag hoisting ceremonies coupled with some other celebrations,” said Qasim Shah a religious teacher at a seminary.
Stalls are loaded with flags, T-shirts with trousers, bangles, badges, wrist bands, caps, face masks, glasses, balloons, glasses, CDs of national songs, etc while prices of independence day related items are lower than roadside stalls at the wholesale hub at Urdu Bazar and Narankari bazar.—APP
