Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair said that the government has allocated a huge amount for improvement of quality education so that the future generation could be able to shoulder responsibility and share its pool for progress and prosperity of the country. The Governor Sindh expressed these remarks while speaking as chief guest at the annual prize and award distribution ceremony of Cadet College Petaro near Jamshoro on Wednesday.
He said that the government is committed to introduce reforms in education sector therefore introduced bio-metric system with appointment of teachers on merit. Besides, the government has also provided opportunity of free education up to secondary school certificate with grant of scholarships to poor but meritorious students. He said that all measures were being made in the education sector only to produce such a generation in future which could be equipped with required skills and able to meet the challenges of modern world as well as play its due role for the betterment of the country in general and Sindh province in particular.
He also called upon the students to acquire knowledge not only to obtain degree but they should make them able to easily avail opportunity of jobs both in public and private sectors on merit. The Governor also emphasised upon the teachers to realise their responsibility and impart knowledge to their students with dedication and devotion.
The parents should also realise their responsibility and keep eye on the activities of their children so that they could get education and never involve themselves in ill activities, he said. He highly appreciated the role of Cadet College Petaro for producing the men of calibres who achieved higher posts and have been engaged for the development of the country.
Earlier, Principal Cadet College Petaro Commodore Mehboob Elahi in his welcome address highlighted the achievements of the college as well as problems being faced by the college administration.—APP
