Karachi—Hub Power has set an example for rest of the corporate sector by investing its resources for the promotion of basic education in Balochistan.
The Hub Power Company (Hubco) has signed an agreement with The Citizens Foundation (TCF) to construct a single unit TCF Primary School in Mouza Kund – Lasbela, Balochistan. It will be a purpose-built structure with essential facilities like running water, electricity, classrooms and a library/resource centre.
The project will be completed within 15 months. The school will have the capacity to accommodate 180 more students in primary section when full capacity is attained. The campus will be a primary school with 6 classes from KG to class 5. As the classes graduate to subsequent levels, full capacity will be attained.
The total cost of construction is estimated to be over PKR 17 million. It must be noted that Hubco is already managing a fully funded TCF School with one primary and two secondary units in Hub that currently enrolls 450 students from the surrounding communities, Hub and Gadani areas. The new unit will be built in the existing compound where funded by Hubco are already operational.
