Honour killing

Raza Ullah

I would like to draw the attention of concerned authorities towards “honour killings” – a social evil in our society. Recently in Karachi twenty years old Hayat khan kill his sister Sumaira with knife, as he found Sumaira talking on mobile phone at their home.
The man was taken into custody soon after the incident. Every year hundreds of women are killed on the name of honour. How long this will continue? Why there are no mass protests in Pakistan against these kinds on killing? Our society and religious leaders need to contribute to it and change mindset and thinking of our people. We need a platform for women so they can raise their issues. It’s necessary for Government to make new policy and implement it all over the country.
