Karachi—Sindh Home Minister, Suhail Anwar Sial, has called for stern action against extortion and forcible recovery of ‘Fitra’ during Ramzan ul Mubarak. Chairing a meeting here on Thursday at the Central Police Office (CPO) he also reviewed the law and order in the province in the coming month of Ramzan.
The Minister directed stern action against extortion and forcible recovery of ‘Fitra’ and instructed the police officials not to leave their place of duty before and after ‘Iftar’.
He told Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, who also attended the meeting along with senior police officers, that it has been observed that often there is increase in incidents of dacoities during Ramzan so effective steps be ensured to curb such instances in the province.
Minister Sial also directed the senior police officers that in coordination and consultation with the officials of the Market Associations concerned, political, religious and social personalities of the areas, measures be taken for resolving any possible issues that come up during Ramzan.
The IGP directed that fool-proof security steps be taken for mosques, Imambarghas, markets, Bachat Bazars and places where Taraveeh prayers are offered. A strategy be prepared immediately in this regard for prompt implementation.
