A heat wave is going to hit Karachi in the summer months of May and June. A large population in Karachi has no knowledge on how to stay safe during the unfriendly tide of warm weather. With the shortage of water supply and the increase in electricity load-shedding, the Karachites will witness the hottest summer.
The health facilities available in the city must be equipped with necessary gadgets and medicines. There is an urgent need to publicize the precautionary measures to enable the people to adopt necessary measures in case of emergency. The heat wave badly affects between 12 noon to 4 pm. There are 1000 points such as petrol pumps, bus-stands, roundabouts and market places where drinking water should be made available. This initiative should be taken by the Government and the residents also.
