Health secretary visits DHQ, inspects facilities

Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Ali Bahadur Qazi conducted a surprise visit at DHQ Hospital Kasur on Thursday. He inspected the emergency and indoor wards, TB clinic, childcare’s ward, PKLI Hepatitis filter clinic, pathological lab and CT Scan at Radiology.
The secretary inquired after the patients in the emergency and indoor wards and asked them about the facilities being provided to them, especially medicines, by the hospital administration. Patients and their attendants expressed their satisfaction over the health facilities in the hospital.
Earlier, Medical Superintendent Dr Nazir gave a briefing to the secretary regarding treatment facilities and ongoing development work at the hospital. Additional Secretary Dr Ahmad Sadain, DMD PMU Muhammad Ahmad and officers of IDAP were also present on the occasion.
The MS said that on average 3,000 patients visit the emergency and 2,500 the outdoor daily.
He said that four generators had been provided for maintaining electricity supply to the hospital during load shedding.
However, presently one generator was providing electricity to important wings of the hospital and remaining would be made operational after completion of wiring.
The secretary said that installation of wiring should be carried out on war-footing basis to ensure functioning of three remaining generation to facilitate the whole hospital. Ali Bahadur Qazi also directed for expediting the remaining work on development schemes and revamping of the hospital.
On the occasion, it was informed that revamping of 40 hospitals was under way and that work would be completed by December this year, according to the time line.
He reviewed diagnostic as well as treatment facilities in the clinic. He took a round of Yellow Room and incinerator for proper disposal of hospital waste.
