Lahore—With a view to take effective measures to prevent outbreak of epidemics in flood hit districts and to provide prompt quality healthcare to the patients of common infections and to carry out necessary epidemiological measures to control epidemics of Gastro-enteritis, malaria and measles etc, Punjab government has been notified flood contingency plan 2016.
According to notification, emergency coordination cell shall be established in all the autonomous medical institutions which will work under the direct supervision of secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education. Concerned principle shall be the chairman of cell while MS attached hospital, Prof of medicine, Prof of Surgery, Prof of community medicine and Director of Finance would be the member of this cell.
Control room shall be established in the office of principle/HOI/dean of the institute. This control room shall be staffed for 24 hours with its head.
The facilitation desk shall be established in each hospital for the facilitation /guidance of the patients and its staff shall be available round the clock with an officer no below the rank of BS- 17. These desk shall be responsible to maintain the record of all patients.
The MS of each hospital shall constitute patient’s care teams to supervise the patient’s management ant these teams shall be headed by MS concerned with senior doctors, nurses and paramedics.
The Mobile/ outreach medical teams shall be constituted at each AMI and these teams shall comprise of physician, pediatrician, orthopedic surgeon, WMO, Nurse, dispenser, paramedics, ward attendant and dresser.
