Haris, Raheem make winning start in Asian U-21 Snooker

Karachi—Debutant Haris Tahir and Abdul Raheem make winning start on the opening day of Asian Under-21 Snooker Championship in Colombo (Sri Lanka) on Thursday.
Talented Haris playing against Ishpreet Singh of India notched- up an impressive 4-1 win.
Haris got off to a sterling start by securing 3-0 lead. Ishpreet pulled off the fourth frame.
However displaying brilliant cue control he seized the decider to complete 71-16, 74-16, 71-64, 28-62, 80-08.
National Junior number two Abdul Raheem appearing in his second Asian U21 contest, routed Seeon Kim of South Korea 4-0 with a break of 56 in the second frame. Raheem winning score line was 61-17, 68-08, 56-54, 71-02.
However it was poor start by National Junior Champion Muhammad Saqib, who went down to M.M Rikez of Sri Lanka in four straight frames.
Saqib fought well in the first frames before gowing down fighting 55-42, 58-42, 68-34, 55-46.—APP
